Acwrimo 2025 is Coming!

Every November, Dr. Katy Peplin of Thrive PhD develops a month of resources and events for academic writers called AcWriMo. Last year I joined her to collaborate on the offering, and I’m excited to share that she and I are running it again this year!

AcWriMo is modeled after the popular NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, a tradition where creative writers make strides in their writing from November 1st to November 30th. In AcWriMo, we’ll focus on our academic writing projects, though independent scholars or creative writers are of course welcome

Join us for AcWriMo and receive these amazing goodies:

> videos and emails weekly to help you set goals and achieve them

> all new resources to guide your writing

> support for doing all this work while still tending your body and life

> writing retreats to help make progress towards your goals in community

> and much more!

Dr. Katy Peplin is the founder of Thrive PhD, a business born out of her own journey through the PhD, and the joys and challenges of being a grad student and a human at the same time. She earned her doctorate at the University of Michigan, with a dissertation centered on animals on film and media. Throughout her degree, she also worked as a teaching consultant at the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching, practiced yoga regularly, and lived with chronic illness and anxiety. These days, she’s super into knitting, colorful water bottles, and helping graduate students around the world treat graduate school like part of their career and life, and not just the holding period before the real stuff begins.
